Event Highlights

Oscar Night T- Bag Party and Welcome Reception (Sunday, February 24) 

Sheridan Opera House in Telluride  5 p.m. ($50.00 cover)  Appetizers and Cash bar.

This is where it all begins.  Pick up your event passes, pick out your ski buddies and make your pick of the winners!  Join guest host, Nuclia Waste, for the kick-off event for TGSW as we gather to watch the 80th Annual Academy Awards at the Sheridan Opera House. Stay late with dancing to the sounds of DJ Ryan! The first 200 attendees to purchase a ticket will receive an official gay ski week T-Bag full of fun! 

The first 200 to purchase tickets for Oscar Night will receive

the official 2008 T -Bag filled with sponsor giveways.

Mad Hatter Ski Party (Tuesday, February 26) 

Hospitality Tent  10:30 a.m.  (Free)

Show off or create your wildest ski hat and compete for prizes while on the slopes!  We will hit the mountain as a group while the gay travel show, BUMP films the entire fashion frenzy.  At noon all participants will meet at Gorrono Ranch where your host, Nuclia Waste and celebrity judges, Charlie David, Reichen Lehmkuhl and Josh Strickland will hand out prizes in all categories!  To register just meet (in your hat, of course) at 10:30 a.m. at the Hospitality Tent on the Beach at the base of Chair 4! Then everyone will hit the slopes to show off their hot heads for the judges!

Mad Hatter Categories include: Best Hat, Most Flamboyant, Most Original, , Best local's hat, Best Mountain Staff Hat, Best Head!

Reichen’s Party (Tuesday, February 26)

Tommy’s Bar in Telluride  8 p.m. - Midnight  ($10.00 cover)

Join guest host, Reichen Lehmkuhl, well known for his reality show win on The Amazing Race 4 and now as a cast member of Dante’s Cove on here! Network, for a casual bar party in heart of Downtown Telluride. Our  DJ will be spinning music throughout the evening at Tommy’s.  Come early as Reichen will be autographing the official ski week poster at the start of the party.

BUMP! TV Party (Wednesday, February 27)

Tracks in Mountain Village  8 p.m. - Midnight  ($10.00 cover)

BUMP! TV travels the globe in search of fascinating gay friendly getaways!.  From gay tourism hotspots like Miami and London, to urban centers such as Montreal and Los Angeles, BUMP! focuses its lens on gay and lesbian communities across the globe.  Join host, Charlie David, as they focus their attention to TGSW 2008 at Tracks in Mountain Village for a party on camera.  Come prepared for your close-up!!!

White Night Party (Thursday, February 28)

White Tent at the Conference Center (Mountain Village)  8 p.m. - Midnight  ($30.00 cover)

Wear White!  Think White!  Feel White!  Join us under the heated big white tent by the Conference Canter Plaza in Mountain Village and dance the night away with DJ Harry.

The Gorrono Sleigh Ride (Saturday, March 1)

Heritage Plaza in Mountain Village

Join us on Saturday for an amazing evening under the starlit sky. Diners are met by a snow cat-drawn sleigh at the base of Lift 4 and taken up to Gorrono Ranch.  Enjoy classic Colorado cuisine in an unmatched setting and sip a drink under the stars on the famous Gorrono deck.  This is sure to be an unforgettable experience highlighted by excellent food, unrivaled scenery and superlative ambiance.  Warm yourself by the fire basking in the ultimate mountain dining experience.  Meet at the Children's Ski School Lobby underneath the Gondola.  Sleigh departs from Heritage Plaza in Mountain Village at 6 p.m. ($50.00) To reserve your space, please call 970.728.7474

The Amstel Light Torch Light Parade (Saturday, March 1)

Viewed from Mountain Village Plaza     6:15 p.m. - 7 p.m.  (Free)  

Ski resort instructors illuminate the slopes as they carry torches down the Misty Maiden Trail. The torchlight tradition began in 1972 in celebration of the opening of the Telluride Ski Resort.  The Heritage Plaza in Mountain Village is a great viewing spots for the glowing parade.  Join us at dusk as we watch the Torchlight Skiers with torches in hand as they ski into Mountain Village from Gorrono's Ranch via the Misty Mountain Trail into the Mountain Village Plaza.

Telluride AIDS Benefit Gala Fashion Show & Auction (Saturday, March 1)

Conference Center in Mountain Village   7p.m.

The Telluride AIDS Benefit (“TAB”) is a non-profit organization committed to fight, fund, and educate by raising awareness about HIV/AIDS locally and globally. TAB raises awareness about HIV, AIDS, STD’s, discrimination, and safer sex practices by innovative global programs, our peer education and middle/high school education workshops, and adult outreach through education and events. They also raise funds and collaborate with the Western Colorado AIDS Project “WestCAP”, Denver Children’s Hospital Immunodeficiency Program “CHIP”, and the Manzini Youth Care Project.

TAB has expanded it’s mission into the vision of continuing to raise awareness in local communities about the global pandemic of HIV/AIDS. The Telluride AIDS Benefit primary purpose is to generate financial support for HIV education programs and for client care in Western Colorado.   For more information visit www.aidsbenefit.org
